Case study: TEOS x Hôtel de la Paix

Shaping tomorrow's workplace

How TEOS Helps Swiss Hôtel de la Paix Run 5,000 Conferences a Year With 0 Signage Downtime

Hôtel de la Paix is a four-star, family-owned hotel in Lausanne, Switzerland, founded in 1910. The hotel works primarily with corporate clients, including organizations in the health, university, banking, and legal sectors. It hosts between 10 and 12 conferences a day, or roughly 4,000 to 5,000 per year.

Before switching over to TEOS in 2018, the Swiss hotel relied on digital signage from local start-up vendors. According to CEO and Owner Stefano Brunetti Imfeld, those systems were unreliable: screens often failed to turn on, and the software was rigid and difficult to use. TEOS Solutions was the hotel's third digital signage provider in 20 years and has proved itself as a reliable partner for the past years.

"For us, TEOS is a partner, not just a supplier. Today, we simply can't afford to improvise. We need to work with people who are strong, who develop, who update, who deliver a quality solution. And there aren't many players in the market capable of doing what TEOS does."

The Challenge

Given the volume of daily conferences and the hotel's corporate client base, Hôtel de la Paix needed a digital signage and meeting room communication system that worked reliably, every day, without exception. The lobby and meeting room areas are highly visible to guests, so any technical failure would directly affect the hotel's reputation.

Key requirements:

  • An all-in-one solution from a single provider
  • Reliable performance across 10 meeting rooms
  • Ability to make on-tablet content updates
  • Changes in real time, including last-minute bookings and extensions
  • A user-friendly interface that doesn’t require tech skills

The Solution

In collaboration with local integrator Matrix Resolution SA, TEOS Solutions equipped Hôtel de la Paix with a cloud-based workspace management platform, deploying one tablet per room across 10 meeting rooms, along with a large-format screen in the lobby.

The hotel staff manages the entire TEOS system through a cloud platform, allowing them to update room schedules, extend bookings, and display content, including client logos and short films, outside conference rooms. According to the owner Stefano Brunetti Imfeld, content updates, including correcting a typo on screen, take about 10 seconds.

Reflecting its environmentally conscious approach, Hôtel de la Paix uses scheduling features to automatically power screens off overnight on a timer, reducing energy consumption while also being mindful of guests near screens that remain visible late at night.

The original devices have been in place for about eight years, and since TEOS can run on almost any hardware, it will be easy to replace them when needed.

The Results

Since adopting TEOS back in 2018, Hôtel de la Paix has experienced stable, dependable workspace management and digital signage performance, in contrast to the prior providers it used over the previous 20 years. By adopting TEOS Manage as its main software, the hotel moved away from the inconsistent performance of previous vendors and unlocked several key benefits, including:

  • Stable operations
No system failures have been reported by the client since TEOS implementation.

  • Device longevity
The existing screens have remained in service longer than expected, reducing replacement costs and delivering considerable savings.

  • Hardware flexibility
Being compatible with multiple device brands, TEOS ensures that the client is not locked into a single vendor, offering greater freedom in hardware selection.

  • Faster updates
The hotel staff can easily update signage content and fix errors on-screen in about 10 seconds. No technical support needed, saving time during busy conference days.

  • Improved guest experience
Real-time updates and a straightforward interface ensure guests always have accurate, up-to-date information across the hotel's 10 to 12 daily conferences.

  • Energy-conscious operations
Screens are automatically switched off overnight, addressing sustainability concerns that matter to both hotel management and guests.

Hôtel de la Paix and TEOS Solutions have partnered for almost eight years. A relationship recently extended for another three, underscoring the hotel's continued confidence in the platform and its long-term commitment to TEOS as a strategic technology partner.
